01Agreement to Terms

By creating an account or accessing Avokindo ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the App.

Avokindo is operated by Avokindo Digital Sdn Bhd, a company registered in Malaysia. Avokindo is a platform for discovering and running communities, events, artist profiles and venues.

02Eligibility

You must meet the following requirements to use Avokindo:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract
  • Not be prohibited from using the App under applicable laws
  • Not have been previously banned or suspended from Avokindo
  • Complete facial verification before taking any action that requires it — see Section 6

Your date of birth is collected before your account is created and is checked against the 18-year threshold on our servers. We reserve the right to verify your age and identity at any time. Providing false information is grounds for immediate account termination.

03Account responsibilities

When you create an Avokindo account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Use only real photos of yourself (no stock photos, celebrity images, or AI-generated content)
  • Complete facial verification, using a live selfie capture (liveness detection), when you reach an action that requires it
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of unauthorized access
  • Not share your account with others
  • Not create multiple accounts or impersonate others

You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

04Platform usage

4.1 Permitted use

You may use Avokindo to:

  • Create and join communities
  • Create and attend events, free or ticketed
  • Create an artist profile or a venue listing
  • Connect with other members
  • Chat with your communities, your event groups and your connections
  • Share post-event photos and notes from events you attended ("Memories")
  • Rate and review events you took part in

4.2 Prohibited conduct

You may not:

  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
  • Post sexually explicit, violent, or illegal content
  • Promote commercial services, spam, or solicitation
  • Use the App for romance scams, catfishing, or any other form of deception about who you are
  • Discriminate based on race, religion, gender, or orientation
  • Share personal contact information before connecting through the platform (bypassing the platform)
  • Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools
  • Reverse-engineer or attempt to hack the App
  • Cancel events repeatedly or ghost attendees

Violation of these rules will result in account suspension or permanent ban.

05Trust Score

Your Trust Score is a 0–100 measure of how far through verification you are. It is not a rating of you, and nothing you or anyone else does on the platform changes it. It is the sum of three steps:

How the Trust Score is calculated
Step Points Required?
Facial liveness check 45 Free
Profile photo and display name 45 Free
Government ID verification 10 Optional, Premium

The first two steps together make an account fully verified at 90. The last 10 points are available to Premium members who choose ID verification (Section 6.2); they are not needed for anything on the platform.

The Trust Score is calculated and stored by our servers, and clients cannot write to it. Attempting to manipulate it through fraudulent activity will result in account termination.

Your Trust Score decides which actions are open to you (Section 6.1). It is also visible: on your own verification screen, on a profile share card if you create one, to a host deciding whether to accept your interest in their event, and in a community's Members tab, which is ordered by score with the highest first. It has no other effect — it does not change event or community discovery, and it is not a rating of your conduct.

06Verification & safety

6.1 Facial verification

Verification is not part of signing up. The check is requested the first time you reach an action that needs it, and until then you can browse, message and hold a ticket without it.

What each step unlocks

After the facial liveness check (45): join or create a community; create or manage an artist profile; claim a venue, check in at one, or request a booking or a residency; create a ticketed event; add a profile photo.

After a profile photo as well (90): post, comment, react, and show interest in or join an event.

The verification process includes:

  • Live liveness detection, to confirm a real person is present and prevent photo or video spoofing
  • Photo validation — a profile photo you upload is compared against the reference image from your liveness session
  • Re-verification if suspicious activity is detected

The liveness check is carried out by a third-party verification provider. Verification data is encrypted and handled as described in our Privacy Policy, Section 3.

6.2 Government ID verification (optional)

Premium members may submit a government-issued ID for enhanced verification. It adds a verified badge to your profile and takes your Trust Score to 100. It is optional: no feature on Avokindo requires it, and it is not a substitute for the facial verification described in Section 6.1. We handle ID documents with the highest security standards.

07Content guidelines & zero-tolerance policy

Zero tolerance

Avokindo maintains a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content. All content you post — photos, event descriptions, memories, messages — must comply with our Community Guidelines.

  • No nudity, pornography, or sexually suggestive content
  • No hate speech, racism, or discrimination
  • No violence, self-harm, or dangerous activities
  • No illegal activity or drug use
  • No harassment, bullying, or threats
  • No copyright infringement (use only your own photos and content)

Users who create or distribute objectionable content will face immediate account suspension or permanent ban. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these guidelines without prior notice. Severe violations will be reported to law enforcement authorities.

All user-generated content is subject to review. Users can report objectionable content via the in-app reporting system and we commit to acting on all reports within 24 hours. Our standards on child safety, and how to report a concern, are set out in full in our Child Safety Standards.

08Subscriptions & payments

Avokindo offers a free tier and a paid tier, Avokindo Premium, sold as an auto-renewable subscription.

8.1 Plans, length and price

Avokindo Premium is offered on the following terms. Prices are in US dollars; the price charged in your country is the local equivalent shown on the purchase screen before you confirm.

Avokindo Premium plans, length and price
Plan Length Price Per month
Monthly 1 month $5.99 $5.99
Quarterly 3 months $14.99 $4.99
Annual 12 months $47.99 $3.99

8.2 What Premium includes

  • A higher active-post limit — 100 active posts, against 50 on the free tier. The limit on saved interests is 50 on both tiers.
  • An ad-free experience across the app
  • Activity insights — statistics on the events you host and attend
  • Read receipts in chat
  • Voice messages up to 120 seconds, against 30 on the free tier
  • Unlimited message translation, against 5 per day on the free tier
  • A Premium badge on your profile

Government ID verification is available to Premium members. It is not a substitute for the facial verification described in Section 6.

8.3 Billing, renewal and cancellation

  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Your subscription renews automatically at the same price for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
  • If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies; Avokindo cannot issue store refunds directly.

Prices may change. We will tell you before a price change takes effect, and a change never applies to a period you have already paid for.

8.3 Event tickets

A ticketed event is either free or priced, and the event page says which before you commit. These terms apply to a priced ticket.

  • A priced ticket is paid inside the app. Payment is processed by toyyibPay, our payment gateway in Malaysia. We do not see or store your full card number.
  • The organiser sets the price and is responsible for the event itself — whether it happens, what it is, and who is admitted. Avokindo processes the payment and issues the pass.
  • Depending on the payment method you choose, a processing fee may be added. It is shown on the payment screen before you confirm, it is charged per purchase and not per ticket, and card payments do not carry it.
  • If an organiser cancels the event, every ticket bought through Avokindo is marked for refund and the organiser is responsible for paying it back.
  • A ticket is personal to the account that holds it. You can release a spot you cannot use, which returns it to whoever is waiting; releasing a free spot is not a refund request.
  • The organiser is paid out after the event, less any refunds and fees. A refunded sale is reversed against the organiser’s balance.

A venue deposit and an artist’s fee are arranged directly between the parties and do not pass through Avokindo. We are not a party to those arrangements and cannot refund or enforce them.

09Account suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

  • You violate these Terms or Community Guidelines
  • You receive multiple reports from other users
  • Your behavior is deemed harmful to the community
  • You engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
  • You fail re-verification after suspicious activity

Suspended accounts may be reinstated after review. Terminated accounts are permanent and you may not create a new account.

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion runs immediately and is irreversible: it removes your profile, your content and your account data. A limited set of records is kept where the law requires it, as described in Section 7 of our Privacy Policy (GDPR Article 17 — Right to Erasure).

10Intellectual property

All Avokindo branding, logos, designs, and features are owned by Avokindo Digital Sdn Bhd and protected by copyright and trademark laws.

You retain ownership of content you post, but grant Avokindo a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content for operating and promoting the App.

11Limitation of liability

Important. Avokindo is a platform for connecting people. We are not responsible for:

  • The conduct of users you meet through the App
  • Any physical or emotional harm resulting from interactions
  • Disputes between users over events or experiences
  • Financial losses from canceled events or unfulfilled experiences
  • Accuracy of user-provided information (despite verification efforts)

Use the App at your own risk. Always meet in public places, inform friends or family of your plans, and trust your instincts.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AVOKINDO AND ITS AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.

12Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes shall be resolved through arbitration in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.

13Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you via:

  • In-app notification
  • Email to your registered address
  • Prominent notice on our website

Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

14Contact & reporting

For questions, concerns, or to report violations:

These Terms sit alongside our Privacy Policy and our Child Safety Standards. Read all three together.
